Xerneas
Description
When X and Y were first released, Yveltal was actually all the craze with the mortality duo. Xerneas didn't have as cool as a design, and it's strength all relied upon Geomancy. But now, Xerneas is one of the most used and strongest Pokemon in existence. It can easily sweep teams with ease after just one move of setting up.
Warrior13's 6th Generation Competitive Suggested Xerneas Moveset
Item - Power Herb
Nature - Bold OR Modest
Ability - Fairy Aura
Effort Values:
110 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpAtk / 72 SpDef / 64 Speed (Bold Nature)
184 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpAtk / 44 Speed (Modest)
88 HP / 96 Def / 248 SpAtk / 76 Speed (Modest)
Moveset:
Geomancy
Thunder OR Psyshock
Focus Blast
Moonblast
Summary: This here is really the only set Xerneas will be using, mainly because of its rather limited movepool. It all begins with
Geomancy and bolstering its Special Attack and Speed - making it an immediate threat - which works best by coming in against a weak opponent that doesn't know Taunt. From there, Xerneas has a power almost unlike any Pokemon ever before.
Moonblast destroys ANYTHING that isn't resistent to it, and
Focus Blast is for those pesky Steel Types. The last slot is up to the user, but
Thunder is the usual choice as it helps out immensely with Mega Kyogre. However, don't count out
Psyshock as another option. It too can hurt Mega Kyogre, but also aids with Blissey and Chansey.
Countering:
Steel Types usually do the trick, but
Mega Groudon also works as a viable counter to Xerneas.
Blissey & Chansey can also work if it's not running Psyshock, as well as
Multiscale Lugia & Klefki.
