Mega Sharpedo

Description

Like a few other Mega Evolutions, Mega Sharpedo is usually ran in one specific way. It's really speedy and possesses a lot of power with its Strong Jaw Ability, but its virtually just as frail as its regular form. This makes it an easy defeat usually when the opposing Pokemon has priority moves that are supereffective against it.

Warrior13's 6th Generation Competitive Suggested Mega Sharpedo Moveset

Item - Sharpedonite
Nature - Adamant
Ability - Strong Jaw (Speed Boost on Sharpedo)
Effort Values - 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 SpDef

Moveset:
Protect
Crunch
Ice Fang
Waterfall

Summary: This is the moveset spread you will usually see with Mega Sharpedo; it can be effective if everything falls your way. It all begins with Protect BEFORE Mega Evolving, as you will receive the much needed Speed Boost. On your next turn, Mega Evolve and begin to attempt to sweep the opposing team. Ice Fang gives Sharpedo additional coverage, as Waterfall hits uber hard with STAB. Crunch is where Mega Sharpedo's real strength lies, as it receives both STAB and the Strong Jaw Boost. Let's put it like this: after all the increase, Crunch has a Base Power of 180.

Countering: Priority Moves are the most effective, but bulky Electric Type Pokemon also do the trick. Prankster Users also ruin Sharpedo's plans, as one Will-O-Wisp will downright cripple everything it has going for it.
