Lucario can have physical, special or both types of attacks, being so versatile and unpredictable. His most famous and most common moveset, however, is the menacing Swords Dance sweeper. After one Swords Dance, Lucario can OHKO the super defensive Skarmory using a STAB neutral Close Combat. There are many options for the Swords Dance set as well, mainly in the last moveslot.

Here's and example, and one that I use to great success:

Lucario @Life Orb
Inner Focus
Jolly(+Speed, -Sp. Attack) -or- Adamant(+Attack, -Sp. Attack)
EV's: 4 Defense, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
-Close Comabt
-Extremespeed
-Crunch/Ice Punch
-Swords Dance

I use Crunch for ghosts that take Extremespeed and Close Combat, but Ice Punch can work as well. It gives it something to his its greatest counter, Gliscor, with. One turn of set up is all you need, and this can single-handedly win you a battle. He's best saved for last, though, to take your opponent completely off guard and weaken whatever they have left. He works well paired with something that's weak to Rock or Dark moves, being the only Pokemon who 4x resists those moves. The opponent has a Tyranitar, for example, and you have a Gengar or Latias. While they use Crunch, you switch in Lucario to take the hit, and Swords Dance while they probably switch out, and proceed to sweep. It also pairs well with Salamence, who covers Lucario's three weaknesses perfectly, and Lucario resists Salamence's weaknesses. Salamence can come into the battle early and take out many things, and wounding others, letting Lucario sweep easier when his turn comes about. For an example of this synergy, come check out how I use the two on my Riley Mania team: http://pokemon.supercheats.com/team.php?id=11842

There are all sorts of sets for the Aura Wielding Jackal, and all can work effectively. I'm simply posting what I know to be true: The Swords Dancer can strike fear into the hearts of many battlers, and can be a great addition to any team.

At first I was sceptical in regards to Lucario but I have really come up with a good layout for him:

Blackbelt-Ups fighting type moves

Aura Sphere-No Misses and is a standard move for any regular pokemon.
Close Combat-For nuking opponents
Ice Punch-For taking out Ground and Rock pokemon and it also aids in killing pesky flying and grass pokemon
Foresight/Shadow Claw-Mainly for dealing with ghost pokemon but shadow claw can be used to take on psychic aswell.

Having dragon pulse is not the best idea. Since dragon type attacks are only super effective toward dragon type pokemon give him ice punch which is not only super effective against dragon it is also super effective against grass, ground, and flying.
