Torterra

Description

Torterra was the final evolution of the fourth Grass Starter Pokemon ever released. Compared to the other Grass Starters, Torterra doesn't really stack up. Venusaur and Sceptile each have awesome Mega Evolutions that take the pressedent with them, and Chesnaught has an awesome Hidden Ability that gives it more usage. Torterra can still cause some damage when in play, but it takes a few things to fall just right for it to do that.

Warrior13's 6th Generation Competitive Suggested Torterra Moveset

Item - Weakness Policy
Nature - Jolly
Ability - Overgrow
Effort Values - 48 HP / 252 Atk / 208 Speed

Moveset:
Rock Polish
Seed Bomb
Earthquake
Stone Edge

Summary: This might now be the most used moveset spread for Torterra since it's more of a Defensive Pokemon at best, but this is the only way for it to cause some serious damage. But do bare in mind that this set is nothing against an Ice type Pokemon, just saying. It all starts off with Rock Polish, which is best used when coming in against either a Fire, Flying, or Bug Type Pokemon, preferably a Bug Type. Get hit with a supereffective move to activate Weakness Policy, and you have a sweeper on your hands. This set works especially well with Overgrow, as Seed Bomb could be further boosted after said supereffective hit. Earthquake also receives STAB, and Stone Edge gives perfect coverage.

Countering: Ice Types literally rock Torterra's world, and they can usually do the trick with a One-Hit Knockout. It doesn't even matter if Torterra gets off a Rock Polish, as a Stone Edge still shouldn't finish off your Pokemon.
